Abbott Elementary renewed for season 4

Overview:

Abbott Elementary will premiere Oct 9 on ABC.

ABC announced a new season of Emmy® and Golden Globe® Award-winning comedy Abbott Elementary, which will air on the night of October 9. It will be followed by the ABC News Studios docuseries, Scamanda.

The workplace comedy, a group of dedicated, passionate teachers—and an oblivious principal—are brought together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life. Though these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.

“Abbott Elementary” stars Quinta Brunson as Janine Teagues, Tyler James Williams as Gregory Eddie, Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Chris Perfetti as Jacob Hill, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa Schemmenti, and Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard.  Quinta Brunson serves as writer and executive producer alongside Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker of Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions. Warner Bros. Television and 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios, produced the series.

Abbott Elementary will shift to a new time slot in the fourth season, as the episodes will air at 9:30 pm PT/ET instead of the traditional 9:00 pm. According to a press release, ABC announced the release date on July 10th. Series creator Quinta Brunson has hinted that the show will have 22 episodes in season 4.
